New Year...New Look...and old updates....

In honor of the New Year I have given this blog an overhaul...about time huh? I think I like it. It is like another episode of purging for the new year which I have been doing a lot of lately.

The new header is actually a composition of some of the "things that make me happy" from the other day. Since a couple of my pals asked I thought I'd elaborate on those things, and add a couple more to the Happy list....since it is New Year's Eve and all.

• THE notebooks: These are THE ones...you know like when you find Mr. Right and know he is THE one? These notebooks like that. They are from Target and as I gathered them to photograph I actually felt like I should stock up on even more next time I am there, especially now that I have decreed that they are THE ones, it will be my luck they are being discontinued! They come in lots of colors and sizes and are reasonably priced, and they have a hard chipboard cover which I love, it is like having a built in clipboard, so no flopping (don't you hate floppy notebooks?) They also have a cute little loop and a matching kraft colored pen...love that. Am I the only one that gives notebooks so much thought??
• THE Calendar program: OK...putting a lot of pressure on this one...to get me and keep me organized....no small task...can it be done? Is this the program to do it?? I am hoping...it looks good so far. www.planzo.com  here is why I think it is so great....it will email not only appointments and stuff, but will also email daily with the "to do" list....granted some mornings I get the email and want to scream "I KNOW...just shut it" but I don't. I also love that I can even ask it to remind me on my cell phone...scary but could come in handy.
• THE IPOD: Seriously loving the ipod...I forgot how much I liked music. I like music. I like all kinds of music. I like that I can download random songs from Grey's Anatomy just because they make me happy. I like that I can make playlists so that at night when I want to read a bit I can listen to the mellow songs and when I walk (I am going to walk this year dammit) then I can listen to songs that get me moving! Loving all things ipod. I have the Nano, I also love the ipod socks...so cute and my ipod never gets cold...and the skin to make it pink...or green or any color I want (If I want to spend more $)....and my very favorite thing about it , no one else can have. It is engraved on the back....if you know me, you know that technology hates me...you also know that Moriah reminds me of this often. My favorite thing about this ipod is she gave it to me, and on the back it says " {this} technology loves you."

New things that are making me happy and therefore are also represented in the banner:

• The Batphone:  Loving this phone from Pottery Barn. It just makes me happy...and I love that it is not cordless so when the power goes out, which it has with these storms, we still have a phone that works. It also cracks me up because it most often rings in the middle of the night for Matt to go handle some sort of work emergency and it seems appropriate to be answering a big red phone! Him having to go to work at crazy hours doesn't really make me happy, but overtime makes me happy so there's that!
• The BIG Picture:   I know this is not really "new"....but  the BIG PICTURE book and BIG PICTURE SCRAPBOOKING.COM  and everything associated with them, is rocking my world...what else can I say?

• Todd's Art:   Yes...my boy can write his name...the whole thing, and he can draw faces, sometimes he even draws faces in the O of his name. So fun...and so cool....as a matter of fact I reaaranged my magnet boards and bulletin boards to fit more art....especially with preschool starting on Tuesday, I figure I'm going ot need it. As a matter of fact Todd is just amazing me more every day. 3 is definitely more challenging than 2, even just a few weeks inot 3 and this is clear. Life as I know it is over because he can now open the baby gates and is unstoppable....but this post is about things that make me happy...and even on the most challenging parenting days, that boy makes me happier than I knew I could be.
• Photo info.... My new lens (Nikon 50mm/1.8) that I got for Christmas (Thanks Mom) is also making me very happy....and helped my take the cool photos above. Also thanks to Irma for the sales pitch...you were so right, I've got a lot to learn but I can already tell that this is a totally rocking lens!
• One more thing.... those of you that visit my blog make me happy....and if you leave comments you make me very happy ! LOL
