So this morning I had my first photo shoot since I started thinking about this whole photography thing in a new light! (sorry, I couldn't help the pun!).

Anyway...I think that these two boys have spoiled me for all future shoots because they are so photogenic. It was so much fun, especially shooting the older boy he was the best model ever. Like I said, I'm totally spoiled.

So I have TONS of shots that I want to play with of these two and I can't wait for their mom, Jill to see them all.

But alas, I am getting up at 0 dark thirty to go with Moriah on a flea adventure, so these few will have to do for now.

typepad is peeving me...

and I'm too tired to figure out what the heck the problem is. I was trying to update my project 365 blog and to quote my mom "it won't let me" do what I want. So I'm going to give up. I will post one of my faves that is going there here though.

My boy mastered turning on the skateboard this week. Too darn cute.

I mentioned that last night Fiona was here...she and Pearl together were pretty funny. They had a few chats.
and shared a few secrets...

which was pretty cool, because for a minute there Pearl wasn't too sure...

I have photos...

I'm ready to catch up the project 365 blog and I took a bunch of shots today that I haven't downloaded yet. But tonight we had Alex and Fiona over for a visit and I'm ready to hit the hay. Hopefully all of the running around with Fiona means Ms. Pearl is going to sleep all night, but just in case...good night.

inspiration...

So I've been thinking about a photo project for a while now--as part of project green wall. I have an idea in my head and just hope that I can pull it off. I had kind of put it on the back burner but after finding these cool photos today, I'm totally inspired all over again.

Do you know what it is?

It is a fish eye.

She has done an entire series of them, and maybe I am totally weird, but I think they are SO SO cool. There was an article written about her and them in Popular Photography....and anyway, I just wanted to share...some wicked cool inspiration.

I don't think I'm going to go out and photograph dead fish anytime soon...but I love that something ordinarily thought of as gross can look so beautiful when seen through the lens of someone creative.

I also think it is cool that this photographer really took her photography to a new place after posting on Flickr. I have to admit I have spent VERY little time there. As much as I love photography I get overwhelmed and lost there and don't really know how to navigate. Clearly I'm missing out though, I may have to check it out more often....there goes the "to do" list!!

I swear I had something witty to say earlier...

but now as I look at the screen I couldn't tell you for the life of me what it was. I think that between starting school again tonight (just my one ASL class but still) which challenged my brain, and then watching the bachelor which rotted my brain I've been left totally stumped.

Woah...did the crazy girl with the teeth just say she was going to go home and brush her teetch and french kiss her dog? Holy moly...no wonder I can't come up with anything witty to say.

on the run...

I went through an entire users guide for my camera today. I think I finally know what all of the menu items do and I'm feeling pretty smart about it!! Hah!! I'm most excited that I wasn't really missing anything too major and I must be getting the hang of things because a lot of what was greek to me when I first read my manual made actual sense to me today. Go me!

I learned a couple of tricks by going through everything again but I'm realizing that I have been using my camera pretty much to the fullest so that is cool.

Anyway...I was testing out some indoor, low light action shots (and as you can see, getting plenty of blurry images). I kept asking Todd to run from the kitchen to the bedroom and back so I could shoot him with different focus settings. Some worked better than others. As I was going through the images to delete them I thought that these two were pretty funny. I didn't even realize that she was chasing him the first few shots.

I'm bummed out that I missed getting a shot of the time when Pearl had Todd's sock in her mouth (while it was still on his foot) and they were having a tug of war.

I'm also sorry I didn't grab the camera when I heard a huge racket in the kitchen and she came prancing into the family room dragging my entire swiffer vacuum sweeper. Hello? I love that thing more than any other household tool...she has now messed with my notebooks AND my swiffer vac....good thing she is totally adorable!

didn't want you to worry....

I really don't have much to blog about tonight. When I skipped earlier this week it felt really strange, so I figured I'd go back to blogging about not blogging when I don't really have much to say!!

Today was just a clean up the house and get some stuff crossed off of the list day. Matt is working all weekend so Todd and Pearl and Huck and I are just hanging out. Tomorrow is a little more work around here so that next week can get off on the right foot, and helping my mom set up a new printer. Try not to fall over from the excitement.

the honeymoon is over...

This is what it looked like right before Todd handed her back to me earlier today. I just realized that there is an extra watermark on her nose but I'm ready for bed so she's stuck with it for now.

I think that she had just absconded with one of his toys before he decided to deliver her back to me. One of these days he will believe me when I tell him not to leave them on the floor.

I shouldn't complain too much...she did actually sleep like 4 1/2 hours in a row last night!!

She was doing SO great with the whole potty thing and then it has been a little rainy...and apparently she's too sensitive to potty on this...

We are working on it though...she's doing pretty good for such a baby girl.
Today she even got to go be the show and tell at Kindergarten which was way cute.

I've got to get this girl a watch...

because she is seriously sleeping way too much when she should be awake....

Tonight we made a major push to wake her up and she was having none of it. We picked her up, poked her, prodded her and she just closes her eyes again. We squeaked toys, ran around and made a racket and she would raise one eyebrow, wake up for two seconds and then curl herself back up and snooze some more.

So I'm sure it is obvious that the clear and unfortunate consequence of this is that she is awake WAY too often when she should be asleep.

sigh...

she sure is cute though.
