random...

Brain dump time.

• I'm watching Design Star right now. I like this show, even though they manage to do some pretty ugly things.
• I'm getting ready to work on my own designs around the house. Since the big office move  which I am still loving to pieces, we have some empty spaces where the office stuff used to be. Plus we are thinking of giving our kitchen a new look.
• I've been drooling over this kitchen for almost a year....still haven't figured out how it will inspire our house, but I'm excited to figure it out.
• I photographed my first newborn twins last week. It was so much fun. I posted a sneak peek on my photo blog
• I am convinced that newborn babies that sleep while you pose them in all sorts of ways are a total myth. It has never happened for me...the twins were no exception, one of them had at least one eye open almost the whole time!
• I've got two fun shoots planned for the upcoming week and I can't wait.
• Real Estate has gotten busy again which is a really great thing, even if there are days that feel like a combination of being shot out of a slingshot and pulled through a knot hole (sometimes at the same time).
• I'm thinking that my photography website needs a face lift and an update.
• I've got about a zillion loose ends on my to do list but I'm going to believe that I can catch up before the week is out.
• The sun was shining when I woke up this morning, I'm hoping for the same tomorrow, the improvement on my mood and productivity is crazy.
• I finally got my Nike+ thing to work in my new shoes and shaved a couple of minutes off of my walking pace since yesterday. It is way cool to keep track of distance and time with this thing.
• I'm letting go of being mad at myself for slacking off on walking for the past month or so and just getting back into it. My strength training has been going so great and when I stepped that up I let the walking go...time to fix that.I need both.
• Pearl is pretty happy to be getting back on the trail.
• Speaking of Pearl, she is still adorable and still eating things she shouldn't...and now she has taken up sleeping places she shouldn't.
• I caught her here the other day...I shot this quickly through the glass door before she woke up and acted like it was no big deal to nap on a glass table under an umbrella...I'm sure she thinks eating that water bottle on the ground was no big deal either.
• I forgot how good it felt to dump my brain on the ole blog...it is better than counting sheep...I'm ready to hit the hay now!!

Lame attempt...

In an effort to keep the blog going I was trying to figure out what to blog about, because I can't yet blog about what I want to blog about because I don't have the photos.

So, I was cruising along reading blogs and got all excited to do a ten on tuesday post like Nora...so I logged in over here and started to type and realized it was Weds. Such a loser.

So...here is a lame attempt at 10 on Weds.

1. I've spent 3 days trying to get a photo of the 3 of us for my little project but we've barely been in the same place at the same time the last few days...but tomorrow I'm just going to grab them and throw them down and take the dang thing.

2. I love my office more than words can express...but my house is still a wreck from the project. Tomorrow is dedicated to resolving that.

3. I'm recommitting to the "year of me"...not that I uncommitted but I started letting myself miss a walk here and there and could feel the ground of a slippery slope beneath my non walking feet.

4. I need to update the blog header and wrap my brain around the fact that it is actually March.

5. After a week off from my trainer, I'm feeling yesterday's workout...and no doubt will feel tomorrow morning's...it is a love/hate thing.

6. I have the cutest new stuff for my guest bathroom, but have been hiding it from myself and dangling it as a reward for getting the office project done...why? I don't know....but I'm hoping to get it in there soon.

7. Phase 2 of this little re-do around the house is to refinish my Grandmother's antique buffet...I don't have a complete plan, but I'm excited about it.

8. Also part of phase 2 is creating an area for the crap that has to come in and out of my house everyday...backpacks, gym bags, coats etc etc. I'm looking for decorating ideas...if anyone has any great deco blogs feel free to link me up. Surfing for this stuff is another reward for finishing the office thing.

9. Pearl is currently snoring so loud on the couch it is ridiculous...I just had to turn up the news.

10. I actually pulled off a 10 on Tuesday (even though it is an hour from Thursday)...details, details.

randomness...

I'm feeling decidedly random tonight...many unrelated things bouncing around in my brain...

• and I'm watching the Bachelor so I'm losing brain cells by the minute
• I think I've figured out how to write a press release...but haven't figured out how to distribute one quite yet
• on the days I work my "office" job, my evenings are more scattered
• if you have to work an "office" job working one with 180 degree ocean view isn't a bad way to go
• my notebooks need a merging
• tomorrow I'm taking photos that will be on promotional flyers for this event
• I'm actually getting quite the education on the professional fight world....kind of crazy
• I have never really liked soup and I tried a new recipe over the weekend that further confirms that soup and I just aren't meant to be
• I cant believe there is an entire national ad campaign based on how people roll their toilet paper.
• I'm amazed at how far a little toe polish can go towards making a person feel more put together
• The rain is cramping my photo taking style and I'm going to have to do something about it soon.
• Pearl was outside all day...in the rain and wasn't wet when we got home. Maybe she made peace with her house?
• I need one or both of the deals Moriah and I are working on to happen
• my husband's commentary during the Bachelor is my favorite part

Believe it or not there are more random thoughts bouncing around in there, but I think this list is a good start for a Monday!

Its my blog and I'll do what I want to...

First of all, I want to thank everyone for the support on the new site. I'm looking forward to adding to it and spiffing things up around the ole blog soon too. I am going to fold the old photo blog into this one...and finally make use of the categories around here etc.

I know my posts are pretty photography heavy right now, but this is still my personal blog....and I'm going to keep it that way. I don't want anyone to think that I'm going all photography all of the time...I'm still going to share silly stories, brain dumping rambles and whatever else pops into my head. I'm also still going to blog about scrapbooking, because this photography gig is not instead of scrapbooking for me. I am still scrapbooking and always will be.

So I guess my photography clients that click on the "visit blog" may find out more about me than they really wanted to, and my friends that want to see what Pearl has eaten lately may have to see more photos I've taken than they want to...but that is my plan and I'm sticking to it.

So now...a few photos of a completely scrumptious boy that happens to belong to one of my dearest friends. We took these photos at Long Branch Saloon and Farms which is so so so cool. I have more to say about this place, and this friend and this boy, and many more photos to share tomorrow. But I know that his mother is clicking refresh and calling me obscene names (with love of course) because I haven't posted anything yet.

So here is just a taste....more tomorrow (I promise).
